Kaduna Rotary Files For Centre As 2025-2026 Service Year Closes

Rotary clubs in Kaduna have filed an application with the Kaduna Geographic Information System, KADGIS, for a permanent Rotary Centre, as they marked the close of the 2025-2026 Rotary year on Saturday, June 27, 2026..

The request was announced at a thanksgiving soiree organized by the Unite-for-Good Presidents at the Kaduna/Zenith ICT Hub off Kanta Road.

President-of-Presidents Rotarian Luqman Babatunde, also President of Rotary Club of Kaduna Metropolitan, said the Centre is critical to consolidating the clubs’ joint projects and giving Rotary a visible base in the state. He urged the incoming Create-Lasting-Impact leadership to pursue the dream to actualization.

“We have filed for a befitting Rotary Centre at KADGIS. We pray succeeding leaders will see it through,” Babatunde stated.

He used the stewardship report to account for the year’s major interventions: partnership with the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Kaduna for October 2025 World Mental Health Day, school bags for students, participation in the October 2025 polio eradication walk, a grinding machine donated to an indigent person in December 2025, and a February 2026 joint Rotary Day fellowship.

In June 2026, the clubs also carried out a menstrual health and sanitary hygiene campaign, distributing sanitary pads to students of Government Girls Secondary School, Independence Way Kaduna.

Assistant Zonal Coordinator Rotarian Aisha Ismail and Lieutenant Governor Rotarian Victor Majekodunmi commended the Unite-for-Good presidents, Rotarians and Rotaractors for a year with no major negative incident, and urged continued selfless service.

The event featured appreciation awards for outstanding leaders and the transfer of baton to the incoming Create-Lasting-Impact teams.
